The new art named Blessing. All elements in this work are meaningful.
At the center is a Chinese characters "FU", which is come from Yuelu Academy (one of the four famous academies in China). If you open the website: [link] you can see the characters in He Xi Platform, on the inner walls. "FU" means blessing, good fortune in English‚ Fu is one of the most popular Chinese Character used in Chinese New Year. Because it is really a nice word. Also in daily life, "FU" as a lucky symbol or pattern used on many things, such as porcelains, bedclothes, clothes, and wallpaper. "FU" has hundreds form of shape, each one is quite different from other. Legend has it that the Character "FU" was written by Luodian, theYuelu Academy's master himself. By the way, in China, when new year is coming,people will paste "FU" on their doors, hoping that can brings good fortune to them. The bird in this work is a pied magpie, people in China think it is the kind of bird can brings pleasure, hope, goodluck,it is a propitious bird. Gourd in China means Blessing, longevity, lucky, which can make dreams come true. So all the elements in this work are an expression of nice blessing. |
